Marriage

looking up, and being looked upon.

In an article by Glenn Stanton, I read some interesting statistics about children who come from two parent families.
1.) children from one parent families are twice as likely to drop out of school as children from two parent families
2.)children from divorced homes are 70% more likely to be expelled or suspended from school
3.)children from two parent families are7-20% more likely to finish college
4.)females from single parent homes are 111 percent more likely to bear children as teenagers
5.)females from single parent homes are 164% more likely to have children out of wedlock
6.)adolescents not living with a biological mother or father are 50-150% more likely  to abuse and be dependant on substances

In more than one instance I find myself nodding my head as I read this article. Having grown up in a loving, two-parent household I'd like to think of myself as "come out right." More and more I find myself turning away from situations that would dissappoint my parents. They push me, and push me to push myself to do well in everything that I do. Having both of them supporting me has made it even more important for me to do well.
